six seis eneg

The hexavirus has departed, leaving its imprint in my body, somewhat drained of its usual fountain of energy. Undeterred, I coughed up the remaining phlegm in my lungs this morning as I rode up 39th drive (9-3 = 6) to the top of the steep hill, passing six parked cars - it was an omen surely. Speeding up to 36 miles per hour (6 x 6) I added a little power to maintain that speed on the long downslope ride which eventually joined 24th street (2+4 = 6). There, I shifted from sixth gear down to fourth, to begin my next climb in a power-up cadence. Ahead, the road crew set up six cones to slow down traffic. I had to enter the road lane, as the cones and equipment blocked the bicycle lane, but the sign person stopped the traffic while I worked my way up past him thence to turn onto the 520 bicycle highway lane. Six minutes later I was racing up to the end, tired and needing more air than usual. Six cars stopped at the cross light, ominous looking people tapping on their cell phones, dialing numbers with sixes in them no doubt. Across the parking lots for the retail strip mall, up the steep six percent hospital hill grade led me to 28th street (8 - 2 = 6) then into the garage underneath building 26 which has the showers and changing room. Six bicycles including mine locked up. Six shower stalls, a glorious six minute shower, a run to my office, 1050 = 6, hang up my riding outfit, and head over to the briefing center at building 33 = 6. The signs were everywhere, including the six wrinkles on my sinister side sleeve.
