Play ball

I went to Mariners baseball game tonight at Safeco field in Seattle. The last time I went to a baseball game was in 1965 at Tiger stadium in Detroit. Now what amazes me is that in the ensuing 39 years not much has changed. The beer, lemonade and peanut vendors were the same and the game remains the same. Only the massive TVs and animated billboards and crowd minders were new and thankfully not overly obtrusive.

It was a nice evening to hang out in cool gentle breezes, high clouds to keep the sun off of the fans, and watch some interesting plays that kept us in high spirits. The Mariners lost. Oh well.
