I just read rowanf's</span>  entry on ancestor memes. I know Maenad used to ask me to check out LJ and I didn't get around to do that until she passed away. Later on Rowan and  kightp urged me to join and I recall  wcg was one of the first to welcome me to this space.

I'm sure glad you came over. The Nomad's Camp was getting pretty desolate. This is better.

Yes, much better. The nomad's camp was also getting spam trashed, then when I moved to the Seattle area, I discovered comcast did not stream alt.kalbo. That pretty much severed my connection to that desert.

I am still getting used to this form of communication. It feels a bit distant mainly because there is no threading or thread links. I that perhaps a feature available in LJ paid accounts?

Nope, no threading of posts for paying accounts either. The only threading occurs in the comments to posts.

There are some peculiar anomolies in this system. If I originate a journal entry, I am given the choice of text, html or rich text, but if I post a response my only option is text (with manual HTML should I choose). Ah well, open source.

Right now I am updating Selene's WEB site. When I'm done with that chore I will update my side pages. I have been meaning to upload several photos I'd like to share with my friends.

Yeah, it's still a developing thing. It occured to me after I'd replied to you last night that the LJ analog of newsgroups is communities. For example, there's callahans, which I'm a member of, though I don't post much there.
